Walking together for charity and health with the trundl app
While many see walking as a great form of regular exercise, there are others who struggle to build the habit. This is why a group from KCC Networking decided to create a special 2-month walking fundraiser with trundl. By walking together for charity with the trundl-app, not only did they raise funds, they also established healthy walking habits.
Using a new trundl-app feature that created a private group, the team chose to support Hospice of the Good Shepherd. Led by Sue Richards and with 25 others pledging to walk and donate, this special charity trundl started in June. Essentially, their plan was to walk at least 2kms a day and together raise at least £1,000 for the Hospice.
Walking for charity motivates people to walk more
Before the charity walk with the trundl app started, not everyone was a regular walker. But with lots of encouragement through the Whatsapp group, new walking habits started to grow. In fact, response to a mid-point survey showed that 71% were now walking further or more often. A brilliant result for personal health, but also for the charity.
By walking solo or together with the trundl app, the KCC group ended up raising over £1,000 for the Hospice. Not only did they boost their health and personal satisfaction with this achievement. By turning everyday walks, including trips to festivals, into charity donations with the trundl app, they also had great fun.
And it didn’t stop there. At the Hospice of the Good Shepherd Challenge Awards, Sue and team won the ‘Best Event Champions’ award. Undeniably that makes it a top charity trundl. Well done everyone!
