Walk with the trundl charity app to support UK National Parks and our environment
While the threat to our environment often feels daunting, the 15 UK National Parks are stepping up to the challenge. Significantly, The UK’s National Parks have become the first in the world to join the ‘Race to Zero’ initiative.
And, by walking with the trundl charity app from 10-27th August, your steps can help their environmental mission too. With kind support from Sykes Holiday Cottages we’re pleased to say.
You can read more about The National Parks NetZero mission here, but some key initiatives are shown below.
- Firstly, restoring nature on a huge scale and storing carbon by bringing 610,000 hectares of land into nature-friendly management.
- For this purpose, they will also restore 168,000 hectares of damaged peatland.
- Equally important will be the creation of over 218,000 hectares of new woodland.
- In addition, they will tackle carbon footprints through sourcing locally-grown food and improving sustainable travel options.
Until now, trundl members and brand partners have created over £20,000 in donations for our charity partners. Simply by going out walking with the trundl charity app.
And it’s worth adding that, within this, these everyday walks have created more than £3,000 of donations to UK National Parks.
Something that anyone who walks with the trundl app can certainly be proud of.
