MLA College love walking for charity with trundl

So, this month our Company focus looks at trundl Company Members from MLA College in Plymouth.

They’ve been walking for charity with trundl for over 6 months and have unquestionably embraced the benefits of trundling.

We spoke to them recently and asked them to summarise their experiences with trundl so far.  Dr. Marie Hale, lecturer and sustainability programme lead at MLA College, shared:

‘We joined trundl to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, particularly ‘Climate Action’ and ‘Good Health and Well-Being’.  Furthermore, we wanted to help staff improve mental and physical health while also making positive impact on UK charity causes’.

Walking for charity helps build up the trundl habit

Since joining, and as a result of some clever moves, the MLA team have developed a love of walking. Dr Marie Hale told us more.

‘Every week, for instance, we hold a ‘trundl Tuesday’ walk together. Without a doubt, this is great for team bonding.  It also ensures that everyone feels the wellbeing benefits of being active outdoors while helping others at the same time.  In addition, we share our trundl company achievements regularly to keep employees walking for charity as much as they can!’

Adding extra purpose to their trundl charity walks

Recently, MLA College stepped forward even further by sponsoring the second Marine Recovery trundl in support of Sussex Wildlife Trust. This special trundl creates the funding to collect, transport and also recycle a whole lorryload of discarded fishing nets.

Phil Hughes, Head of Operations at MLA College, clarified why they were happy to sponsor.

‘As an organisation that’s passionate about environmental responsibility and community wellbeing, we’re excited to help a charity supporting ocean recovery.  And if we can do this while also encouraging active walking habits amongst our staff, all the better!’

Big thanks to the MLA College team for walking with trundl and stepping up to help a range of charity causes.
