Astonishingly, it’s just over 4 years since we held our first commercial trundl. In that time, we have held 100’s of community walks with the trundl app, donating over £32,000 to UK charities.
To celebrate what those walks with the trundl app achieved, here are some of the highlights since 2022.
Walking for charity is a great motivation to be active
Since January 2022, an astonishing 341,512 kms has been walked for charity with the trundl app. Importantly, when looking at monthly averages, this represents an 34% increase in distance walked per member during this time.
And what this means is that more time is being spent outdoors in nature. 21 hours a month was the 2025 average and studies show that even 20 minutes a day can transform health. Lowering stress hormones, easing blood pressure and even improving gut health are just some of the benefits of being active outdoors.
As one of our loyal trundl members shared: ‘There are days when I don’t feel going out. But knowing that my steps will help UK charities always gets me out of the door!’

People love seeing their actions make a difference
Through their own dashboard on the app and regular comms from trundl, members see their personal and collective impact rising. Not only have those everyday walks created over £32,000 in charity donations, but they have also funded some tangible environmental projects.
A favourite feature of the trundl app is the CO2 Saver. As our tracking shows, members love seeing their carbon savings mount up when they choose to walk rather than drive. While these savings were good in themselves, we decided to create another reward incentive. So, every time a collective savings of 2,000 kg of carbon is reached, we celebrate this through two regenerative initiatives: planting school orchards with The Tree Council and recycling discarded fishing nets with Sussex Wildlife Trust.
To date we have funded the planting of six orchards and the collection and regeneration of two lorryloads of nets. trundlrs are enormously proud of these projects, the benefits of which will continue for many years to come.
Being part of a community is enriching
Even though trundl members are spread across the UK, knowing that they’re part of a kind community keeps them motivated. As Terrence from Colchester shared:
‘Seeing the total on the app mounting up each day towards the group target is great. It means that even when I’m walking on my own, I know that there are lots of other people walking too’
With more than twenty companies using trundl to motivate more team activity, this has led to more group cohesion too.
‘Our ‘trundl Fridays’ have become a regular feature for the team. It’s fantastic reason for us to get out of the office, chatting as we go and raising funds at the same time. It’s amazing what gets resolved on such outings!’ Nottinghamshire company member.

Thank you to all of our members, partners and supporters for being part of our walking app adventure. Four years has flown and we’re unbelievably proud of what we’ve achieved together.
